Key Responsibilities: What You Will Do

1. Receive and Prepare Cash

Receive deposits and promptly update the applicable systems.
Check containers or bags for tampering or damages and report any anomalies.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and security procedures.
Acknowledge all incoming items using the appropriate system and accurately prepare workstations for note counting.

2. Note Sorting and Verification

Sort deposits and notes (FDP/ACDP) same-day within cut-off times.
Handle rejected notes correctly—coordinate with the Reject Teller for verification.
Maintain documentation such as production sheets and daily logs.
Report discrepancies to the Team Controller and perform daily reconciliations.

3. Cash Reconciliation and Desktop Deposit Processing

Manually check for counterfeit, dye-stained, or mutilated notes.
Perform cash transfers to vaults and complete end-of-day balancing.
Ensure all transactions, including surpluses and shortages, follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Keep deposits segregated per customer and ensure same-day processing.

4. Coin and Sachet Processing

Sort and count bulk coin deposits according to SBV’s procedures.
Balance teller coin transfers and report differences.
Manage machine operations, clear jams, and ensure smooth coin processing.

5. Bank System Integrated Deposit Handling

Validate system-integrated transactions per SLA requirements.
Address any account-related anomalies with Client Services.
Escalate technical issues to the Team Controller as needed.

6. Payroll and Float Management

Process payroll and change transactions within SLA timeframes.
Ensure float bags are packed and sealed per client requirements.
Report all irregularities promptly and ensure proper authorization is obtained before dispatch.

7. Prepack and Treasury Support

Accurately pack/unpack ATM and bank cash.
Manage consumables and validate bag and seal numbers during the packing process.

8. Equipment and Quality Management

Maintain and use all equipment as per SOPs.
Adhere to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards.
Report equipment defects and ensure the cleanliness of machines before and after shifts.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications

Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics Literacy

Work Experience

At least 6 months of previous experience in a teller or cashier position is advantageous but not mandatory.
