Mining General Worker

Our mine, located in the Limpopo Province around 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, is a world-class producer of chrome ore.

The selected candidate will submit a report to the Miner or nominee.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
Competent B Certificate.

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

Completion of a relevant, approved training programme.
6 months previous mining underground experience; e.g.: Rock Drill Operator.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

Install supplementary support according to the steps specified by the Miner.
Water down the hanging wall, then bar it and the side walls.
Conduct a pre-shift check of machines, machine parts, and/or production line components to verify that production runs smoothly and in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
Install the long anchor using the stresser jack, cropper, hydraulic pump, grouting pot, and following the method.
Conduct a mini-risk assessment and lockout method in your own work area and under your control.
Ensure that the workplace is clean and safe, and that all equipment is stored appropriately.

Selection will follow the Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine Recruitment Operating Procedure. A key aspect will be the individual’s compatibility with the Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine Values.

The successful applicant will be appointed under the Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine Conditions of Employment, which include certification of medical fitness in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
