What will you do?

The role’s aim is to give new and existing customers with competent and appropriate financial advice, planning, and goods (sales) that meet their needs and requirements. Procure high-quality sustainable businesses in accordance with the business aims stated. Maintain and support these clients as part of a long-term relationship that fosters brand loyalty while also providing continuing advise and sales. Conduct these operations in a compliant and ethical way, resulting in the development and maintenance of the Sanlam Group company and brand.

What will make you successful in this role?

1. Assist in growing the Sanlam Adviser Business

    • Be dedicated to the distribution strategy’s marketing strategies and aims for business growth and development.
    • Use your expertise and understanding of market segmentation and consumer profiles to boost sales and growth within the given market.

    Undertake relevant behaviours to attain targets relating to:

    • Revenue generation (Single and recurring premiums)
    • Activity quotas
    • Promote the Sanlam brand
    • Treating customers fairly to be applied to all client engagements
    • Role is aligned to your personal career aspirations

    2. Networking, prospecting and leads generation

      • Face to face encounters, whether social or business-related, can lead to commercial prospects.
      • Prospecting for new clients using innovative channels such as business/social networks, associations, or impromptu presentations.
      • Turning trusted relationships into business relationships.
      • Strengthening existing relationships by increasing the current service.
      • Use current sources to identify opportunities throughout Sanlam’s companies.
      • Personalised client value propositions.
      • Marketing on social media.
      • Conduct specific client-focused activities to create leads and informal prospecting opportunities.
      • Mining existing customer base to find marketing gaps and sales possibilities in the middle-high and wealthy markets.
      • Structure and execute targeted campaigns with new or current clients in the given market.
      • Requesting current and ongoing leads and recommendations from others.
      • Monitor and respond to customer activity such as maturities, cancellations, and surrenders within the designated market.

      3. Client consultations and sales

        • Ensure client contacts are compliant with disclosures and advice, including providing needed written/electronic information.
        • Conduct thorough fact-finding with clients to identify their requirements and goals.
        • Conduct a financial needs analysis, using the relevant e-tools / instruments or systems, to ascertain the client’s full financial situation; or utilise the services of a Para-Planner for this. (Draw policy history).
        • Provide sound personal financial planning advice.
        • Apply your financial expertise to create a strategy that fulfills the client’s needs for a balanced portfolio.
        • Present financial solutions to the client in a professional and competent way that is consistent with the principle of treating customers fairly.
        • Use appropriate processes and system tools to acquire analytical data and update records as needed.
        • Review clients portfolio annually by undertaking the above steps.

        4. Client Service

          • Ensure all client interactions are ethical, civil and professional.
          • Follow-up or refer all existing business queries to be resolved timeously through support.
          • Strive to provide outstanding, value-added service to clients such that they do not seek competing items or services.
          • Continuously learn about information, skills, and market/industry concerns in order to better serve clients in the given market.
          • Establish long-term customer connections and have a relational focus.

          5. Monitor, update and reporting (weekly/monthly)

            Document and present the following activities:

            • Number and profile of contacts, appointments, consultations.
            • Issued business and revenue against targets.
            • Update client details on records.
            • Appropriate workflow and activity monitor system entries.

            Qualification and Experience

            • Grade 12
            • If you have been registered with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) for more than 24 months, you must successfully fulfill the “Fit and Proper” criteria and the Regulatory Examination under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS).
