Traffic Officer Learnership Programme 2025 (X154 Posts)

The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety (LDTCS) has officially started applications for the Traffic Officer Learnership Programme 2025, with 154 positions available across the state. This is an excellent opportunity for young South Africans who are committed to road safety, law enforcement, and community service. Successful candidates will participate in a 12-month learnership that combines theoretical and practical training, equipping them for a fulfilling future as trained traffic officers.

Traffic Officer Learnership Programme

The learnership allows you to obtain both classroom-based instruction and actual job experience within the Department. Learners will receive an annual stipend of R67,675.56, making this a fully supported chance to work while learning. Participants are expected to successfully complete the curriculum, following which they will be awarded a full Traffic Officer qualification.

The available roles are dispersed among the five (5) districts of Limpopo:

  • Capricorn District: 31 posts (Ref No. LDTCS L1/2025)
  • Mopani District: 32 posts (Ref No. LDTCS L2/2025)
  • Sekhukhune District: 33 posts (Ref No. LDTCS L3/2025)
  • Vhembe District: 31 posts (Ref No. LDTCS L4/2025)
  • Waterberg District: 27 posts (Ref No. LDTCS L5/2025)

Entry Requirements

To be considered, applicants must satisfy the conditions listed below:

  • A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Age between 18 and 35 years.
  • A valid Code B driving licence (manual transmission).
  • South African citizenship with a valid Identity Document.
  • Must be medically fit and produce a certificate demonstrating the capacity to perform intense physical training.
  • Must not have a criminal record, and no one has been ruled ineligible to carry a firearm under the Firearms Control Act.
  • There are no obvious tattoos that violate professional conduct.
  • You must be willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

As part of the selection process, candidates will also be required to take driving and competence tests.

If you do not provide the necessary documentation, your application will not be considered. The employer maintains the right not to execute the learnership.
