What is the Crime Prevention Warden Programme 2025?

Phase 2 AmaPanyaza CRIME PREVENTION 2025. The Gauteng Department of Community Safety is now presenting an empowering opportunity for young and agile people from the Coloured and Indian communities in Gauteng to become Crime Prevention Wardens. This project seeks to enhance community-based safety systems and reduce crime in specific regions by recruiting and training dedicated adolescents who are devoted to upholding law and order.

Successful applicants will go through an intense training programme, both theoretical and physical, to ensure they have the skills needed to work effectively in public safety professions. During the training session, applicants will be paid an R4,000 monthly stipend. Following successful completion of the course, applicants may be assigned to operational safety teams under the Directorate of Traffic Management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric qualification
  • Physically fit and agile
  • No criminal history or pending charges.
  • Willingness to do both theoretical and physical training
  • Be willing to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Targeted specifically at colored and Indian young people in Gauteng.

Duties and Responsibilities

During training, applicants will work under supervision and are expected to:

  • Assist with crime prevention operations.
  • Conduct stop-and-search procedures.
  • Support the arrest process and law enforcement activities.
  • Respond to community concerns and disruptions.
  • Maintain law and order in public places.
  • Support traffic control measures in certain locations.
