The Department is providing an opportunity for people interested in pursuing a career in firefighting. We are looking for devoted, physically fit, and disciplined individuals to engage in the Learner Firefighter Program.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 qualification (Matric Certificate)
  • South African citizenship
  • Valid Code B driver’s license.
  • No criminal record
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18-34.
  • Physically and medically fit (a fitness evaluation will be performed).
  • Ability to operate under pressure and in difficult conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Participants in this program will get training in fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency rescue operations, and other key skills needed in the fire and emergency services fields. Throughout the programme, learners will be required to receive significant physical and theoretical instruction.

Duration:

This is a fixed-term training programme. Successful candidates will be enrolled in the training programme for a certain length of time, during which they will be given organized theoretical and practical teaching.

Remuneration:
