Background & Job Description
SASSA is devoted to provide social security services to South African citizens in a professional and timely way. As a Grants Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration and processing of social grant applications, ensuring that qualified persons receive the financial help they require in line with the law.
Selected individuals will be assigned to various SASSA local offices around the Eastern Cape area. The role is appropriate for those who are detail-oriented, service-oriented, and can work in a high-volume administrative setting.
Tasks
As a Grants Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the administration of social funds at the local and service point levels.
- Screening all grant applications for compliance and completeness
- Capturing grant applications into the SASSA system
- Providing customer service and support to grant applicants
- Processing various grant documentation
- Performing other administrative duties related to grants management
- Conducting quality control checks on submitted applications
- Ensure full compliance with Section 57 of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Chapter 6, Part 3.
Qualifications
To qualify for the SASSA Grants Administrator Vacancies, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Senior Certificate (Matric/Grade 12 – NQF Level 4)
- Computer literacy is a must
Additional Advantageous Requirements:
- A valid driver’s licence
- Previous administrative or clerical work experience
Experience
Although previous job experience is not required, administrative or clerical skills will be useful throughout the selection process. The demonstrated ability to interact with the public in a customer-focused setting will also be deemed advantageous.
