The City of Johannesburg Metro Police welcomes South African jobless youngsters to apply for the Metro Police Learnerships 2025 Programme.

Allowance: R68,461 per annum

Duration: 18 months (15 JANUARY 2024 to 15 JULY 2025)

Learnership Conditions: Candidates should note the following conditions:

The City is not required to provide permanent posts following the training.

Extensive physical training is required.

Candidates must abide by the Firearms and Ammunitions Act.

Successful candidates will be required to wear a uniform, work shifts, and operate in all weather conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

To be eligible for this learnership, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

Grade 12 qualification

Medically and physically fit

Valid Code B Driving Licence

Ability to work in a team and handle stressful situations

No criminal record

Permanent residency within Johannesburg Town’s jurisdiction

Fitness Requirements:

Shortlisted candidates must complete a fitness test that includes a 2.4 km run, push-ups, and sit-ups.Other requirements: Candidates are needed to:

Pass a written assessment and an interview

Submit fingerprints or identity numbers for criminal record checks

Undergo a City medical evaluation

Take a compulsory drug test and continuous random drug tests

Maintain fitness levels and undergo ongoing fitness assessments

Abide by the Metropolitan Police Training Academy’s code of conduct

A freshly certified copy of the matric certificate and a certified copy of your South African ID are required.
