Eligibility Requirements for Department of Health Traineeships 2025

To qualify for the Department of Health Emergency Medical Care Traineeships 2025, candidates must meet the following academic and additional requirements:

1. Senior Certificate (Before 2008):

• Minimum E symbol (Higher Grade) or D symbol (Standard Grade) in:
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Biology and/or Physical Sciences

2. National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Higher Certificate Endorsement:

• Required subjects and ratings:
  • English: Rating Code 3
  • Mathematics: Rating Code 3 or Mathematical Literacy: Rating Code 6
  • Life Sciences: Rating Code 3 and/or Physical Sciences: Rating Code 3
  • Two additional subjects: Rating Code 3

3. National Certificate (Vocational):

• Minimum pass of 60% in:
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Life Sciences and/or Physical Sciences

Additional Criteria:

• Minimum APS (Admission Point Score): 18
• Must pass a medical fitness examination.
• Must pass a physical fitness assessment.
