How Unisa Applications Work
Unisa’s 2025 selection procedure includes computing a unique score for each prospective student. This score is based on their final Grade 12 results as well as other characteristics such as school, gender, socioeconomic status, race, and so on.
”As part of its commitment to rectifying previous injustices, Unisa has an application and selection procedure that strives to equalize historical disparities while maintaining quality requirements.”
Before applying, students must verify that they fulfill both the statutory and college-specific admission standards, including the Academic Points Score (APS) for their desired certification. Unisa 2025 Application Closing Date Confirmed.
Applicants can apply for up to two credentials, arranging them in order of preference. They can only register for one qualification, even if they are eligible for both. Unisa will tell the student of their application status, including the qualification they have been approved for and the study time.
When an applicant receives an offer from Unisa, he or she must answer within the timeframe indicated. If they do not accept the offer within 10 working days, it will be removed and another candidate will take their place.
Applicants can only accept one offer. Once they receive an offer for a qualification (whether it’s their first or second choice), the other offer will be automatically withdrawn.
After accepting the offer, the student must register for the designated study period. If they do not register for that semester, they will need to reapply for admission in the next application cycle.
Who Needs to Apply?
Anyone intending to begin a new qualification must apply for admission. This includes first-time applicants to Unisa as well as current students seeking to change their qualifications or specialization. If the applicant is completing a higher certificate and wishes to continue with further undergraduate studies, they must also apply for admission. Additionally, if an applicant previously applied for admission and received an offer, but did not accept or register, they will also need to reapply.
Individuals planning to enroll in classes at a TVET college (Technical Vocational Education and Training) under the Unisa-TVET agreement must also apply for admission. Unisa 2025 Application Closing Date Confirmed.
